2012 was a great year for genealogy and me. Among the highlights:
* Researching the ancestry of my son-in-law’s grandmother and finding many relatives and ancestors she did not know she had. And then finding out how much this meant to her!
* Finishing a two-year term as 2nd Vice-President in the Iowa Genealogical Society (IGS). It was fun to interact with other members and contribute to genealogy at the state level, and co-ordinate facilities and arrangements for four conferences.
*Continuing some editing for the IGS webpage and Facebook page. Technology is a great way to reach out to other family history researchers.
*Finishing a second term as president of Story County Genealogical Society. It was a fun time for me.
What lies ahead? Well, I’m still contributing articles to our local society newsletter, helping with the webpages and Facebook pages at both the state and local level. And I am planning to do more research on my husband’s Irish and Swedish lines, as well as continue exploring my own Luxembourg and German ancestry. That will keep me busy in 2013.
Happy New Year to my readers!

Congratulations and happy new year!
And Happy New Year to you too, Mary.
YOU go Girl!
Mary, you have made wonderful use of your time this past year, and helped many people to explore their genealogy, and find their roots. It has been a vintage year!
Happy New Year! And thank you for the introduction, through this very post, to the website for the Iowa Genealogical Society …
