Looking at the Swedish Ancestors

American Swedish Institute

New home purchase?  No, this is the American Swedish Institute (ASI)  in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which we recently visited with my husband’s cousin, Betty.  Built by Swan J. Turnblad in the early twentieth century and, since 1929,  home of the ASI.  It’s a beautiful and well maintained structure.  The third floor has an exhibit of what Swedish immigrants experienced as they moved to the new world.  Well worth a visit to this historic mansion.

In the gift shop my husband found the book Your Swedish Roots by Per Clemensson and Kjell Andersson.  I am hoping it will help me in researching Jim’s Swedish ancestral line.
