Dream Realized

Jim and I have just returned from a ten-day trip to Germany with an opportunity to visit, among other places, the villages of our ancestors: Vreschen-Bokel and Rommerskirchen (Nettesheim/Butzheim).

This was a life-long dream of mine, and, like Bloody Mary in South Pacific, “I really did have a dream come true.”

Now there is a bit of jet lag, lots of emails, bills, laundry and all the parts of daily life clamoring for attention.  I’ll be recording details of the trip in future posts.

Note to Jane and Jens, Anke and Hinrich:  You were wonderful!

    Sounds wonderful!

It will be great to hear about your trip, Mary, when you are rested!

  3. Jens Delger says:

    Thank you Mary,
you are wonderful, too. We enjoyed so much to travel with you.
A member of the genealogy society of Romerskirchen already wrote an internal report of your visit which we are going to fully translate and send it to you soon. Her report starts as follows:
“Question: When are findings turning into experiences?
Answer: When the findings affect our feelings.”
It was a great pleasure for us to share your experiences.
